What you should know about lobular breast cancer?
Invasive lobular breast cancer is not a common type of breast cancer. It only affects about ten to fifteen percent of women with breast cancer. This type of cancer can occur at any age but it affects more women who are between the ages of 45 and 55. Men can also get affected by this kind of breast cancer but is very rare.
Lobular breast cancer is just as serious as other types of cancer. It is very important that this type of cancer should be diagnosed early. By doing so, the cancer will be treated at its earliest stage and the survival rate will be higher.
The thing about invasive lobular breast cancer is that it is very hard to diagnose. It is difficult to see on a mammogram and more diagnostic is needed to detect the cancer, such as ultrasound scan, needle core biopsy and fine needle aspiration. |
